SharePoint’s Market Share Penetration
Tuesday, May 6th, 2008A recent study by Michael Osterman, from Osterman Research, gives us some insight into SharePoint’s market share penetration. Some of the highlights Michael shares with us include:
- Among organizations who have deployed Microsoft Exchanged, more than one half already have deployed SharePoint and another 12% plan to deploy SharePoint this year.
- Less than 20% use SharePoint as a mission critical application. This number is expected to double this next year.
- Most SharePoint deployments are not hosted.
- 1/3 or organizations have collaboration policies in place, while the rest leave it up to departments and teams to decide.
